Responsible Gaming

Gambling should stay a paid form of entertainment, not a way to make money or solve a problem. This page sets out what you can rely on from this site, some practical habits that help keep gambling in proportion, and where to turn if it stops feeling like fun. Everything here is for adults: the eighteen-and-over restriction appears throughout this site, including on the front page.

Independent Help

Every page of this site, including this one, carries links to five independent gambling-help organisations:

  • BeGambleAware
  • Gamble Aware
  • Gambling Therapy
  • G GamCare Gambling Support: Starts Here
  • GamCare

These are the only outbound links on the site that are not commercial. Unlike the operator links, they carry no sponsored marking. They are set to nofollow and open in a separate tab on each organisation's own website. This site receives nothing when you follow one of them. Each is an independent source of help, separate from this site and from any operator.

Money Habits

  • Decide the amount before you start. A limit set in a calm moment is more reliable than one you invent mid-session, when wins and losses distort your judgement.
  • Treat that amount as already spent. If you think of it as the price of the entertainment, a loss is the expected outcome, and you have no reason to try to win it back.
  • Never chase a loss. Raising stakes to recover money increases how much you can lose, and the odds of the next bet do not change because of the last one.
  • Keep gambling out of borrowed money. Credit and loans turn a passing loss into a debt with interest. That debt keeps costing you long after the session ends.
  • Take breaks. Stepping away interrupts the momentum that makes time and money disappear. It also gives you a chance to check whether you are still enjoying it.

Leaving This Site

Nothing involving money happens on this site. No gambling takes place here, and nobody's age is checked here. Each operator link redirects you to a third party. From that moment, the destination's own rules, checks and account controls apply, not anything published on these pages.

If you want deposit caps, loss caps, reality checks, cooling-off periods or self-exclusion, you arrange them yourself inside your account at the destination. This site has no account, no form and no server-side application, so nothing published here can switch such a control on, check it or enforce it.

No advertising or behavioural profiling network is present in these pages. As a result, nothing here is targeted at a reader who has shown risky behaviour.

Involving Others

Bring someone else in early, as soon as gambling stops feeling like entertainment. Warning signs include:

  • hiding how much you spend
  • feeling restless when you are not playing
  • gambling to escape stress
  • going over the amount you set

A friend, partner or relative can see patterns you may not notice yourself. Saying the problem out loud also makes it harder to keep postponing a decision. Talking early is easier than talking after the losses have grown.

If you would rather speak to someone outside your own circle, the independent organisations listed above are linked on every page of this site.
